I'm so sorry to hear about Oscar. I lost a cat a few years back that was 15 years old. And even though she sure had a nice long run, it still was crushing. I sure hope Oscar continues to feel better. It would invariably wake us up at night--that unmistakable sound of a heavy ceramic dish being pushed across the kitchen floor. Finally I just moved the dish to a carpeted room to stop the torture, but he kept on doing it anyway. Well, old Oscar suddenly became very ill on Friday & had to be rushed to the emergency vet because he could barely walk. Turns out he has heart disease. I was agonizing over euthanasia Sunday and yesterday, but miraculously he's better today. Not ok, just not lying there like he's dead. To make a long story short, the emergency vet said her cat did the same thing with head-butting its water dish. So you are not alone in having a weird cat! Now I'd give anything to hear that middle-of-the-night sound again. My almost 14-yr old cat Oscar suddenly started moving his water dish a few years ago.
