Of course, if you were to jump from one side to the other you would find yourself landing in an overgrowth of thickets. Ouch. But you are right, Northern Minnesota is beautiful. My family used to go to a lake there, White Earth Lake, which is about 40 min from the mouth of the Mississippi every year for like 17 years. Northern Minnesota is gorgeous. Have fun!
