I remember your cute pink bag, Caroline. It appears in a photo from the last girls' night we had before you left. See here.

It brings a smile to Apryl's face when she gets compliments about her bags.

Liam's parents gave me a reusable bag for Christmas 2006 (the year I met them). I love it. It is also pink and says 'shop local' on it. Sometime I get complements.

Even Kroger now sells reusable bags for $0.99 for regular ones and $2.99 for insulated ones. And some of their stores are also offering a bag credit. I doubt their Memphis stores have jumped on that bandwagon yet, but who knows?

Yay for everyone using reusable bags! We have at least 12 now, and I use them all the time, not just for shopping, like when we go to the library or on trips. They are fabulous. I especially love the ones that fold into a tiny attached sack and the ones with long and short handles, available in hemp recycled cotton, and recycled plastic containers. I haven't tried the produce bags yet. I need to.

So I think San Fransisco was on the right track when they outlawed plastic grocery bags altogether! Currently Whole Foods sells reusable bags made out of recycled water bottles for $1. Also check this out http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/pressroom/pr_01-22-08.html
