In 1982, Devo agreed to perform a live broadcast of their newest stage show 3-DEVO, utilizing 3D graphics, computerized lighting, and rear projections. Unfortunately, the evening was met with technical glitches galore. The complicated "special effects' became less impressive as they started to fail one by one. Even the singer's microphone cuts out and members have to share microphones to keep the show going. Several of the songs start up and then have to be abandoned altogether. Mind you, it's all happening in real time so rather embarrassing for the band. During the last number "Beautiful World," the Booji Boy character sounds off on the powers that be that forced Devo's hands to agree on putting on the evening's show. Booji Boy ends the rant with a plea, "Resist stupidity!" Check out the glorious moment at the 58:00 mark!
