Cool! I guess the quality has something to do with the Beeb's practice of wiping all their TV show tapes--but then, why does anything of this exist at all? Glad the audio survives at any rate.

Trey - usually the audio exists because of dorks like all of us who would record audio using their tape recorders. In Beatles world, that stuff comes up fairly frequently, a BBC radio performance that exists now only because of home taping. You'll also see home movies of TV screens from time to time as well (Lennon and McCartney on the Tonight Show in '68 is an example).
